God threshes before He blesses!

His path to authorship began not with a career ambition, but with what he describes as a direct call from God. Years ago, Brancato says he received a dream instructing him to write a book. Although he did not consider himself a writer at the time, years of ministry, healthcare work, Bible study, personal trials, and spiritual formation gradually gave shape to the message he believed he had been called to share.

"I didn't choose authorship; I responded to His invitation," Brancato says.

His development as a writer began quietly through short articles and reflections connecting Scripture to everyday experiences. Those pieces became what Brancato describes as a "quiet training ground" for the book that would eventually become The Threshing Floor.

But writing a book about refinement would ultimately require Brancato to experience that message personally.

As he wrote about suffering, surrender, and spiritual formation, he encountered trials of his own that forced him to wrestle with the same truths he was putting onto the page. The process required vulnerability, humility, and a willingness to allow his own life to undergo the refining process he was describing.

"The struggle wasn't only about allowing the book to be edited," Brancato says. "It was about allowing my life to be edited through the same trials and afflictions I was writing about."

That lived perspective is central to The Threshing Floor. The book does not present suffering merely as a theological concept to be studied from a distance. Instead, it explores what those beliefs mean when faith is tested by circumstances that cannot be quickly explained or resolved.

Brancato's perspective has also been shaped by more than twenty-five years of ministry involvement, including teaching Bible studies, leading home fellowships, street evangelism, and participating in domestic and international mission trips.

For more than twenty-six years, he has also worked in healthcare, where he has spent countless hours alongside people experiencing illness, fear, exhaustion, and vulnerability. His work has given him opportunities to offer encouragement, prayer, and compassionate presence while witnessing firsthand the questions that often emerge when people are confronted with suffering.

That intersection of ministry, healthcare, Scripture, and personal experience informs Brancato's understanding of the human heart and his belief that hardship does not necessarily indicate God's absence.

"I hope they feel seen," Brancato says of his readers. "I hope they recognize that their suffering is not wasted, not random, and not a sign of God's absence. And I hope they walk away with a renewed sense of hope, that the threshing floor is not a place of destruction, but of transformation."

Brancato describes his own writing journey in three words: "Challenging. Refining. Necessary."
Those words also capture much of the journey presented within the book itself.

The Threshing Floor is ultimately not a book about escaping hardship. It is about discovering what can happen when believers surrender themselves to God in the midst of it. Through that process, Brancato encourages readers to consider that the blessing found on the threshing floor may not always be changed circumstances, but a changed person, increasingly free from what once defined them and more firmly rooted in their true identity in Christ.
